In the second quarter, Moelven posted an operating profit totalling NOK 329 million, which is an increase of NOK 238 million compared to the same quarter last year (91). The Group will be using the very good quarterly result to modernise plants in order to secure future and stable jobs in the local communities in which they operate.

Operating profit for Moelven the first quarter this year reached a record NOK 226 million, which is NOK 175 million more compared to the same period last year. The figure represents a quadrupling of the profit figure compared to the same quarter in 2006. Operating revenues for the Group the first quarter totalled NOK 1,989 million, compared to NOK 1,557 million last year. Pre-tax profit totalled NOK 218 million (42).

Profit figures for Moelven in 2006 totalled NOK 370 (159), which is a doubling compared to profit figures in 2005 and a record high for the Group. Operating revenues were NOK 6,692 million in 2006, compared to NOK 6,005 million the previous year. Pre-tax profit totalled NOK 336 million (113).
