Total operating revenues for Moelven increased by NOK 232 million compared to the year before, setting a new record with sales of more than NOK 6 billion in 2005. The Group also posted a total operating profit of NOK 159 million in 2005, compared to NOK 70 million the previous year. Pre-tax profit totalled NOK 113 million (17), which is the best annual result for the Group since the year 2000.

Moelven posted one of the Group’s best first quarter profit figures, reporting NOK 51 million in operating profit and a 3.3 per cent operating margin. The operating profit for the same period last year was NOK 3 million. The total profit figure for the past 12-month period is NOK 200 million.

Operating revenues the second quarter increased in all three divisions and totalled NOK 3,277 million for the first six months of the year, compared to NOK 3,086 million for the same period last year. Operating profit totalled NOK 141 million for the first six months, which is a significant increase compared to the NOK 79 million posted last year for same period.

The positive financial trend at Moelven is continuing, and the Group reported an operating profit of NOK 82 million for the third quarter as a whole, which is an increase of NOK 47 million compared to the same period last year. The higher profit figure is a consequence of both favourable market conditions and a range of efficiency measures.
